Stiga Table Tennis Conversion Tops: The Best Reviewed

For those who don't know, a table tennis conversion top is a method of converting your pool table (or billiard table) into a "ping pong" table. It is a great way to save money and space while expanding your gaming abilities within your own home.

The top hooks right onto your current pool table and is padded by foam so nothing will be scratched up in the process. The Stiga table tennis conversion tops cost anywhere from the mid $100's to the low $200's. However, if you are buying a conversion top you'll need to be aware of whether it comes with a net and posts (not to mention paddles and balls) as some don't. In this case you may be able to get a package deal by ordering all together.  Remember, just like I say in my article about reviews of P90X, the only real way to know what is best is to try it yourself.

The Stiga Fusion is a 1/2" thick top which is supported by a 3/4" gloss black rail running around its edges. It is a nice-looking piece: a fine black color gives it a sleek and sophisticated appearance. It will fit most pool tables whether they're 7 or 8 feet long. And it utilizes sponge rubber strips in order to protect itself and your billiards.

Stiga's Fusion is the 3rd most popular table tennis conversion top on Amazon, so it must be doing something right. I believe it may be the combination of the darker look and a cheap price: about $180 last time I checked, down from a list price of $270. (Amazon is very cheap, usually.)

The Stiga Deuce table tennis conversion top uses a steel frame and 30-inch steel stiffeners to keep itself sturdy, in place, and very playable. It is almost as popular as the Fusion. It's another half-inch table which is also dark green.

It comes in to pieces so that it's easy to put it on and take it off of your pool table. I am sure you'll be getting countless hours of fun with this or any of the other Stiga tops listed in this article. They are not all that different versus each other.

The Deuce utilizes all of the innovations that are present in our other two Stigas. It rates a little better however. So that is one reason why I place it second.

Here is the sixth most popular table tennis conversion top. The Stiga Duo is quite cheap. In fact it's about $40 less then the Fusion. However, it shares many attributes with the previous model: fits 7 and 8 foot pool tables, does not come with net and posts, 1/2" top. The Duo however is dark green, unlike the black color above.

It's got side strips which will enable you to align it and hold it in place while playing. And it looks like you can get a package discount by including the Stiga Privat net and posts, paddles, and ping pong balls.

This is basically the Duo with a net and posts. It's a package deal, and because of this I actually rank it above the Duo, but I wanted to review that table top before explaining this one.

Whatever you get with the Stiga Duo table tennis conversion top you can expect to get with this one, plus the obvious extras. If you want, do your own research into whether the extra price is really worth it, but I'm pretty sure that this is the way to go.  You get everything you need to play right out of the box.
